Dear walking book clubbers,
Thanks so much to those of you who came along to discuss Shyam Selvadurai’s wonderful novel, Funny Boy, about a Tamil boy coming to terms with being gay during the Sri Lankan Civil War. We loved it! Somehow this very specific situation was turned into something universally relatable.
I also highly recommend the film of Funny Boy (on Netflix, here), for an injection of colour and decaying grandeur into your evening.
Here is my webcast about the book - look out for some clips of the walk at the end... Can you guess what I brought for our snack?
Let me know what you think! Always great to hear your personal reaction to the book in the comments, thanks!
